The Texas Computer Education Association (TCEA) is holding their 2011 Convention and Exposition February 7th to 11th in Austin, Texas. This five day convention offers amazing hands-on and peer-to-peer learning opportunities, interactive learning environments in which to explore new education trends, and fascinating presentations from leading education technology experts. It is one of the largest conventions of its kind in the country and, in fact, the largest education technology convention in Texas.
This convention is targeted at educators who wish to expand their skills and learn even more about integrating technology into the classroom. The convention features more than 400 sessions and workshops all surrounding the subject of the latest technology trends in relation to education. There will be presentations, round table sessions, intimate learning sessions, hands-on workshops, panel presentations, and exhibitor tutorial sessions.
Some of the keynote speakers that will be featured at the convention are: Leigh Anne Tuohy, the woman portrayed by Sandra Bullock in the movie The Blind Side that helped NFL player Michael Oher; Mark Nizer, an incredible comedic illusionist who will be giving a 3D presentation; and David Pogue, a personal-technology columnist for the New York Times. Some of the featured presenters include: Tony Vincent, Joan Gore, Janet Corder, Tim Chase, Michael Butler, Jennifer Wagner, Ginno Kelley, and Tammy Worcester.
The 2011 convention is being held at the Austin Convention Center right in downtown Austin. The exhibit hall that is being utilized by TCEA spans more than 245,000 square feet. There will be vendors who are ready to demonstrate instructional and administrative software, Internet, LAN/WAN, staff development, desktop and network security, and more. The exhibit hall will be open Wednesday, February 9th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Thursday, February 10th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday, February 11th from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
