Temporary Acer Desktops Can Help in a Pinch

Need a replacement desktop while yours is getting fixed or while you are on the road at a convention or conference? A lot of people do and a lot of those people usually opt for renting a desktop computer as opposed to packing everything up and hauling it across the country. However, many people struggle with exactly what kind of desktop to get, though if you want something easy to move and easy to place then Acer might be the way to go.

Acer desktops are typically smaller and sleeker than your average desktop PC, allowing you to place one virtually anywhere you want. Rentacomputer.com offers many Acer desktop computer rentals that are perfect for any situation.

Acer's New Tablet Uses AMD C-50 APU

Not too long ago we heard about how Acer was throwing their hat into the Tablet ring and creating their very own tablet pc to rival that of Apple's iPad. Apple's iPad is one of the single hottest pieces of technology out right now, and other companies are seeing how profitable the tablet market is. That is why it isn't surprising to see all these other companies, like Samsung and Acer, coming out with their own versions of a tablet pc.

When Acer first unveiled their stab at a tablet, they showed off some pretty good things. The company has already confirmed that their tablet will be powered by AMD, but as for that, nothing else was really said about it. Well, according to a report from DigiTimes, the Acer tablet should use AMD's dual-core C-50 Ontario APU (or Accelerated Processing Unit). What is interesting about this is the fact that the C-50 Ontario APU only uses 9 watts of power and comes with a built-in Radeon HD 6250 graphics chip.

The report from DigiTimes also stated that the Android Tablet will have Tegra 2 as well as support for WiFi and even 3G. So if we break it down, it appears that Acer is trying to deliver a 10.1-inch Android Tablet with Windows 7 using AMD's C-50 Ontario APU and containing two 1.3 megapixel webcams as well as support for WiFi and 3G. Oh, I forgot to mention the docking station that features a keyboard and charger.

Acer is really packing everything they can into their tablet, and consumers should definitely stay on the lookout for this device. If you are not an Apple fan or are just looking for an alternative to the Apple iPad, then don't hesitate to give Acer's tablet a once over. Acer is a top name in technology and is known for making top notch computers, which means making an awesome tablet should be no problem. Look for Acer's tablet when it launches in February, 2011.
